HealthEdge to Present Case Studies on Technology-Enabled Business Transformation at AHIP’s Institute 2014
Sessions with Medica and Optum will explore business imperatives that payors must address in order to compete in today’s evolving healthcare marketplace
Burlington, MA, June 3, 2014 —HealthEdge®, provider of the only integrated financial, administrative and clinical platform for healthcare payors, today announced that it will present two sessions on technology-enabled business transformation at AHIP’s Institute 2014. These sessions will provide payors with insight and advice on how to use technology as a driver for business transformation, as they look to reduce costs while improving care in an ever-changing healthcare marketplace.
HealthEdge Executive Vice President Ray Desrochers and Senior Vice President Bill Jollie will co-present with Medica’s Vice President of Business Architecture and Strategy Kimberly Branson, and discuss how Medica transformed its business using the HealthRules® product suite. This session, entitled, “Technology-Enabled Business Transformation for an Evolving Marketplace,” is a case study in how Medica used technology to drive an organizational transformation that reduced administrative costs, improved efficiency and allowed the insurer to quickly bring new products to market.
“Business as usual is no longer an option, and payors cannot grow and evolve their organizations and compete effectively using outdated, legacy technology and manual processes,” said Ray Desrochers, executive vice president at HealthEdge. “At this year’s conference we’re bringing together industry experts and real-world case studies to show how modern, next generation technology can be used as the lynchpin to a full organizational transformation.”
AHIP’s Institute is one of the industry’s most prestigious events, bringing together payor executives from across the country to share thoughts, ideas and insights related to the challenges facing their organizations. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Breaking the Mold in the City of New Ideas,’ and the event will focus on fostering a spirit of innovation during this pivotal time in the healthcare market.
In addition to the concurrent session, AHIP Select Member and Sponsor HealthEdge will also conduct a workshop entitled, “Transformation through Technology,” conducted in collaboration with HealthEdge partner Optum. This is a hands-on session, designed for payor business and technology leaders. It will explore the key issues facing payors today, showing how technology can be used as the catalyst for organizational transformation, and will focus on streamlining operations, attracting new customers, adapting to change, driving satisfaction and creating internal and external transparency. Moderated by Desrochers, the workshop will feature a number of industry executives from Optum and HealthEdge.
The HealthEdge sessions will take place at AHIP’s Institute 2014 at the Washington State Convention Center. The Concurrent session will take place on Thursday, June 12 at 4:00 p.m. PT in room 615; the HealthEdge/Optum Workshop will take place on Wednesday, June 11 at 1 p.m. in room 616 (registration required).
